11551 – Moderate Assessment

This programme is for professional adult and tertiary teaching practitioners and teachers teaching unit standard courses. The purpose of the training is to enable teaching practitioners to quality assure assessment materials and assessor decisions.

People credited with this unit standard are able to moderate assessment materials and assessor decisions.


11551 – Moderate assessment

Course overview: This is a three-week, interactive course where you will engage in moderation activities and gain an understanding of the moderation process and assessment best practice. Courses will be held every second month.

The course consists of: 

  1. Pre-reading and workbook (provided one week prior and to be completed before online session 1).
  2. Online session 1 (2 hours).
  3. Additional reading and workbook (to be completed before online session 2).
  4. Online session 2 (2 hours).
  5. Additional reading and workbook (to be completed before online session 3).
  6. Online session 3 (2 hours).
  7. Final assessments.

The assessment will be completed after the online course.
