Hardship Support for Ākonga

Your success and Hauora (wellbeing) are important to us.

The Manaaki Fund has been created to help ākonga (learners) to reach their career goals. The purpose of this fund is to support ākonga so they can continue with their training, despite challenging times or changes in circumstances.

This fund is available to all active EarnLearn learners with the purpose of providing financial support for those in situations of hardship that are impacting progress within their programmes.

All applications will be considered by EarnLearn and the outcome will be communicated to the applicant by the indicated announcement date for each application round. EarnLearn may request additional information from the applicant or from their Account Manager (AM).

Key Dates

1 October – Applications open
5pm, Friday 8 November – Applications close
Week commencing 25 November – Results communicated

Terms, Conditions & Eligibility

Value of fund will be issued in one lump sum deposit of $500.00.
Application must be validated by an EarnLearn AM to ensure criteria is met.
Applicant must be able to prove ownership of the nominated bank account if requested.
Applicant information will be confidential unless the applicant as agreed to a follow-up for media purposes.
All applications must be submitted by the submission cut off date.
Cannot have received a Manaaki Fund grant previously.
