Study nights deliver for Waikato learners

The Hamilton EarnLearn team started pilot testing study nights last year. They’ve proved so popular that more dates have been added for 2024.

Justin Morris, EarnLearn Regional Manager — Central and Lower North Island, says, “Our team are going above and beyond to support our learners by running after hours study night. It’s really rewarding seeing learners thrive in an environment where they’re supporting one another to get ahead.

Justin says that the sessions, held at the Wintec Trades Campus in Hamilton are designed to assist any EarnLearn trainee who needs help, or even just  provide them with a quiet place to study. EarnLearn Account Managers are onsite, but the support learners provide each other is also invaluable. The busiest sessions have seen more than 20 learners attend.

Due to requests from trainees and employers asking for more the following study nights have been locked in for 5pm-7pm — Monday 4 and 11 March.

“Hearing trainees tell us how valuable this support is to them, especially from those who might be struggling with the learning material, and seeing the results makes it all worthwhile for our team,” says Justin. “We really work on their study skills, for example how to understand what the question is asking. It’s so rewarding seeing trainees learn and thrive.”

A few quotes from trainees:

“It’s good having people there who know what they’re doing to give you a hand when you’re stuck. Because me I personally struggle to do study and do exams.”  Josh M

“It’s good to get help and be able to ask questions with my onlines so that I know what to do.”   Marc T

“It’s good to have a routine and come along every week.”   Cody W
