Assessors play a key role in supporting learners throughout the training and assessment process.
To ensure that all learners receive high quality training and are assessed fairly and consistently against national standards, all EarnLearn assessors are required to complete 4098 Assessor Training and hold the 4098 unit standard (Use standards to assess candidate performance), before they can apply to become a registered assessor.
Course overview: This is a one-week, interactive course where you will engage in assessment activities and gain an understanding of the assessor process and assessment best practice. Courses will be held on the last week of each month.

EarnLearn has developed a tailored 4098 assessor’s course for a Trades-based environment.
This course is suitable for workplaces that are considering workplace assessment and have apprentices enrolled in Plumbing, Gasfitting, and/or Drainlaying qualifications.
Please note: This course is only available to individuals who are assessing programmes offered by EarnLearn – a business division of Te Pūkenga.
Course overview: This course is targeted at individuals who will be assessing in the workplace, it is important to note that you must have trainees enrolled with EarnLearn to be able to complete this course. Learning will be completed online, and you will be required to attend an online workshop as well where you will be informed on how you will work with your trainees to collate the evidence that you need.
Note: To complete the course, the potential assessor’s workplace must have access to an apprentice as the course relies on completing assessments on real learners.
Cost: $300 + GST.

This programme is for professional adult and tertiary teaching practitioners and teachers teaching unit standard courses. The purpose of the training is to enable teaching practitioners to quality assure assessment materials and assessor decisions.
People credited with this unit standard are able to moderate assessment materials and assessor decisions.
Course overview: This is a three-week, interactive course where you will engage in moderation activities and gain an understanding of the moderation process and assessment best practice. Courses will be held every second month.
