Online Exam Prep & Technical Support Sessions - New Format from August

Starting in August, we’re updating how we support apprentices preparing for their PGD Boards exams. These changes will give apprentices more flexibility to choose sessions that suit their schedules and exam dates.

We’re also introducing regular Monday evening drop-in sessions for technical support. These are designed to help apprentices with any assessment-related questions they may have.

Online Support Schedule

You can now access exam prep sessions using the links in the attached calendar.

Each prep series includes Session 1 and Session 2. We strongly recommend attending both in order, as Session 2 builds on the skills covered in Session 1.

If an apprentice misses a session, they can simply join the next available one listed in the calendar.

· Drainlaying prep sessions: Twice a month

· Plumbing and gasfitting prep sessions: Every two months

In these sessions we aim to provide support for online assessments for apprentices,

All plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying apprentices are welcome to attend and ask questions about any online assessments they’re finding challenging,

If you attend the online support session, please bring a list or note what assessments you need assistance on, a recommended list below:

What version you are in, V2, V3 or New Program
What is the module number of your assessment? Eg. Module, 11, module 7
What is the unit standard number of your assessment? Eg. 30616, 30534, 21883
What questions are you struggling with in that assessment? Eg. Question 7, 15, 21
Any other questions you may have to do with your apprenticeship, we will do our best to answer

Online Exam Prep Schedule

These drop-in sessions run every Monday from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Apprentices can join the Teams meeting at any time during the session using the link provided. An assessor will be available to answer questions and offer support.

This regular support option aims to make it easier for apprentices to get help and reduce the need to book individual call-backs through the PGD Support inbox.

These free online prep sessions are designed to help you prepare for your final registration exams in Plumbing, Gasfitting, and Drainlaying. You can attend as many sessions as you like.

Whether you’re sitting one or all three exams, these informal and supportive sessions give you the chance to ask questions, review key topics, and clarify anything you’re unsure about.

Session 1 covers exam basics, exam techniques, and sample multi-choice questions.
Session 2 focuses more on maths, exam questions and responds to student questions.

To get the most out of your session, please come prepared with a list of topics or areas you’re struggling with, we hope you enjoy and will appreciate any feed back to improve these sessions.
