Nutrition Coaching

Nutrition counselling is a supportive process to understanding the nutrition you need, help you set priorities, establish goals and create individualised action plans which acknowledge and foster responsibility for self-care.

Benefits of nutrition counselling

  • People with healthy eating patterns live longer and are at lower risk for serious health problems such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity
  • For people with chronic diseases, healthy eating can help manage these conditions and prevent complications
  • Healthy nutrients improve brain function, making it easier to handle work challenges
  • Good nutrition throughout the day is beneficial to both mind and body and correlates to being happier, more creative, and more productive
  • Eating healthy foods helps you reduce stress and focus better

Healthy eating could lead to other healthy lifestyle routines like increased physical activity which in turn could help with a good sleep pattern.

Rongoā Māori is a holistic and cultural healing practice that incorporates deep, personal connections with the natural environment. For centuries, whānau Māori have cultivated rongoā, passing its unique knowledge down through generations. The practice is derived from mātauranga, which many Māori regard as central to their identity.

In addition to Vitae’s services, our nationwide account managers regularly check in with learners and employers to identify opportunities for extra support and wellbeing initiatives.

EAP Counselling can help with managing conflict, coping with change, stress, grief, career transitions, relationship issues, gambling, alcohol / substance abuse, parenting, conflict, pain, trauma, anxiety, depression and many types of emotional difficulty. We’ve learnt through over 50 years of experience that, on average, two to three counselling sessions leads to measurable improvements in workplace performance. A 24/7 freephone number and email contact is available to all employees. Self-referrals can also be made via our web-referral or via our app.

We offer options of phone and video conference counselling; which is as effective as face to face sessions.

Vitae’s Mental Wellbeing Check-In resource offers practical tools and clear guidance for anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide.

It encourages individuals to seek help early, providing urgent contacts such as 0800 543 354 for immediate suicide prevention support, and 0508 664 981 to book a confidential appointment with a qualified counsellor.

The resource includes self-awareness checklists and compassionate advice to help people recognise emotional warning signs and take proactive steps toward safety and recovery.

Vitae’s Alcohol and Drugs resource raises awareness of the risks and impacts of substance use, offering practical strategies for healthier habits.

This resrouces shares insights into how common alcohol and drug use is in New Zealand, the potential effects on mental and physical health, and ways to reduce harm.
